Just wanted to say a huge thank you to Gemma and Liss! They have been my property managers for a few years now and have never had a problem. I kept my house clean and tidy and in return they always got things done for me. I have rented my whole life, and been to a few real estate agencies now where you report maintenance and it takes forever... Well that wasn't the case, Gemma and Liss from Taplin's really made my stay worth while and if it wasn't for the owner selling the property, I would still be there. Thank you Gemma and Liss!

Property landlord: Terry Byrne from Taplin Real Estate.

Agent lied from the beginning, on first inspection day, we found the house not very clean, backyard with mould and old leaves everywhere, spider nets everywhere in and outside the property. Terry Byrne, the property manager told us, that it was going to be cleaned prior to our arrival if we rent the property, we believed on her word.

We rented the property, it was in the same conditions when we inspect it, dirty.

We filled in the report they gave you on arrival, she replied on an email that nothing would be fixed or cleaned, she only agreed to fix a broken window and repair a tap.. (which was never fix)

On that report we list the mirrors not clean, doors marked, walls not clean, spider webs everywhere, carpet in old conditions, you just walk on that carpet and it get marks, window frames dirty, etc (I have photos to prove it)
The kitchen and racks also were dirty, oily and smelly. On the kitchen the exhaust fan was oily and dirty.

After some weeks, we found that rats were also living in the ceiling and that one rat died in it. You can imagine the smell...

Terry Byrne paid someone to remove the dead rat after 1 week she was noticed. However rats continue to come inside the ceiling as the hole was not fixed/closed.

We had to take Terry Byrne to SACAT so Taplin had to agree in breaking the lease so we were free to go.

When vacating the property she made a list of things to clean, the classic marks in the walls very well known. Terry Byrne also made a list of damages!
Terry Byrne listed the kitchen rack was dirty.
The walls marked
The Mirror not clean
She says I have damaged some doors
She says the carpet need to be clean
Terry also says that the windows frames need to be clean.

So you can see how Terry Byrne act on this, I can assume many things from here:
- She charged previous tennants a bond and she didn't fixed , who knows what happened with that bond.
- She want to rent the property to others in bad conditions, as Terry doesn't care about the rats.
- I am aware that she already found a couple to rent the property, if you are reading this, please be aware.
- She rents this property and seems to be a trap to get it fix or to get the people's bond.

Please be aware of this agent, Terry Byrne from Taplin Real Estate Glenelg. She says she is experienced and Senior however in real life this have not been proved.

I will not clean or fix anything she claims need to be fixed or I will not get my bond back.

I have to say that I invested $350 in cleaning the backyard, SACAT were unable to get my refund.
I have invested in cleaning the carpet and spider webs and dry leaves in a backyard's linen sort of roof.

I tried to make her understand this all are her problems that she should fix on her own, however she still want others to fix for her.

When we moved into this home it was filthy. This is after being told it would be cleaned before we moved in. There was rubbish strewn across the back lawn including broken glass. There was a broken window, holes punched into doors, spilled food throughout kitchen cupboards etc. I got ELECTROCUTED from a live wire sticking out of the wall. no tv aerial. Taps not working. Telephone wires hanging from ceiling. Redback spiders in laundry along with rubbish. You can imagine how awful it was to move in here with our 4 children. Nothing was fixed until 1year later when we had put in our notice to move out. There was no blinds in main bedroom and the previous tenants had put in blinds themselves. When we moved out they tried to charge us for those blinds being broken and for new carpet because of tiny stain that was not visible. We put in new blinds then We took them to court with large counter claim and they backed off. They did not keep their word with several things. It is so important to put everything in writing by email so you have records of it.
