The kitchen in this 2 bedroom property is dated and poorly designed. There is an old split oven and gas top stove built into an old chimney but there is only 33cm clearance from the gas top and the chimney mantle piece. I never used it because I was afraid I could damage the laminate above the stove. There is also no extraction fan in the kitchen. The kitchen sink is small and difficult to wash larger dishes because there is two separate spouts sticking out for hot and cold water. There is a hot water for tap adaptor for an older style dishwasher. (newer dishwashers recommend only using a cold water adaptor). The rear extension ( laundry and sleep out) is made from asbestos panels with louvered windows.

The pipes in this house are old and it is evident with the soot that builds up in the bottom of the pink toilet bowl and in the bathroom sink. There is a fireplace in the lounge room but it's rusted out and the glass in the door broken. There is mould and dampness in a the north west ceiling comer of the master bedroom.

There are three Palm trees in the back yard that drop seeds over the summer months. These seeds are bothering to clean up and they soon make your wheely bin heavy if you put too many in it. They are also uncomfortable to walk on and prematurely wore out lawn-mover blades. There is a tree on the verge that drops sticky sap on cars starting from October threw to the end of November. There are also three razor sharp cactus plants situated at the rear patio fence line so it could pose a risk to young children.

There is a single tilt door garage connected to the house but it will only accommodate a small car because it is not very deep or wide. My car also got broken into twice in the twelve months I lived at this address. There are also rats living in the ceiling.

This is a beautiful old two bedroom house with decorated high ceilings and polished wooden floorboards. This house stays cool in the summer, because of its three meter ceiling height, and its solid clay construction.

There is a gas bayonet in the lounge room so you can keep warm with a portable gas heater. This house has super fast NBN so it's a big plus for gamers. There is a tv areal jack in the lounge room that gives perfect reception. The old metal fans work great in bedroom and lounge room and are easy to keep clean.

Parking on this street is scarce and if you don't have an extra car to park on the verge it will be promptly taken up by someone else. Usually by someone connected to the building contractor who lives diagonally across the road. This same building contractor runs his business from home and it's not uncommon to get woken up by his tandem trailer banging around in the early hours of the morning and throughout the day. The neighbour at the rear used to clean the leaves out of his swimming pool with a big net and dump them in my yard at night. I found this behaviour unacceptable. On night I noticed the large net emptying leaves into my yard and out come my flashlight and it never happened again.

The house itself is old and has been poorly maintained over the years but it is still a great house to live in. If you are handy and enjoy fixing problems yourself this house should not be a problem for you. The rent is cheep and this house is in a desired neighbourhood close to everything.
